Police have launched a manhunt after an attacker allegedly threw acid at two women, who have both suffered burns of varying degrees on the face and body.
The shocking events took place this Tuesday in the town of Cártama, near Malaga, where the attack was reported at 2.05pm.
According to sources, the suspect threw the liquid from the inside of his vehicle at the two women, who were in another car, before fleeing the scene.
Medical personnel sent to the area requested the support of an air ambulance to transfer the most seriously injured woman to hospital.
Guardia Civil officers have taken charge of the investigation which, according to sources consulted, focuses on the partner of one of the victims.
Local Police and Civil Protection have also been mobilised to support medical teams and control traffic.
