A 45-year-old British national could be facing jail after failing to make compensation payments to the family of a man who died after he punched him in Fuengirola in 2018.

Mark T. was ordered to pay 183,500 euros in damages to the family of Mario Sauco, in monthly instalments of 800 euros. Having not yet made a single payment, the lawyers representing Sauco's family have asked the court that Mark T. be made to serve his two-year suspended sentence.

According to SUR sources, Mark T. has sent several emails to the court blaming problems with the bank transfer.

Mark T. admitted to punching Sauco in court in July. The victim fell, hitting his head on the ground. He was admitted to hospital in a coma and died eight days later.
