Four men aged between 25 and 35 have been arrested over the kidnapping of two victims who were held in Fuengirola while the suspects demanded a ransom.

The victims were picked up somewhere between Murcia and Alicante on 30 September and were driven for five hours to Fuengirola, where they were held hostage without food, water or anywhere to go to the toilet.

The kidnappers demanded 150,000 euros from the victims' families, threatening to kill them if they told the police.

A joint operation involving police in Madrid, Malaga and Alicante was able to locate the house and the victims, both 25, were handed over when police arrived.
