Electrical faults leave more than a thousand homes across Malaga province without power

More than a thousand homes in Malaga city and the eastern part of the province went without power on Wednesday morning as a result of two unrelated incidents affecting the electricity supply.

The most significant was caused by a fire in a transformer station in the Colonia de Santa Inés neighbourhood of Malaga city, affecting 739 households mostly in the city.

Throughout the morning, there were also power cuts in Alhaurín de la Torre, Benalmádena, Mijas, Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Marbella after a lorry hit a substation. This fault has been resolved.
