More than 40 proprietors and staff of the bars and restaurants located in Fuengirola port held a protest against the town hall on Sunday evening.

The group, which has set up the Fuengirola Port Matters platform, is disappointed at the town hall's lack of support and is claiming that the council is ignoring their pleas for help.

The group held a meeting with mayor Ana Mula last week, but say they think she is "dragging her feet" with regards to publicising the area, which has become like a "ghost town" to due to the lack of visitors.
