The daily figures given out by the regional Health authority on Monday show 184 new cases of Covid-19 diagnosed in the previous 24 hours in the province of Malaga. Six more patients with coronavirus have been admitted to hospital in Malaga, taking the total number of people in hospital up to 227. Of them 33 are in intensive care units.
In terms of specific outbreaks, the health authority has reported 94 confirmed cases in the Vitalia care home in Teatinos (Malaga city), and another 17 in a care home in Archidona.
No new deaths were reported on Monday, although Malaga is still the Andalusian province with the most coronavirus-realted deaths since the first outbreak of cases in March, with 320. Eighteen new deaths in the province were recorded last week.
The total number of cases confirmed in this area was 11,171 on Monday, with 4,706 cases declared as cured (where the patient tests negative after previously testing positive).
In the region of Andalucía as a whole there were 868 patients in hospital on Monday with Covid-19, 115 of them in intensive care.
The latest figure showed 645 new positive tests in 24 hours in the region. This comes after Andalucía recorded an all-time daily high with 1,242 cases on Friday.
