The Age Concern charity shop in Los Boliches has been closed for more than a week because one of the organisation's volunteers tested positive for coronavirus.
The charity acted immediately and the committee decided that the best course of action would be to close the shop for 14 days.
The shop has now been sanitised and as a further precaution, all shop volunteers and drivers have been tested. The charity has stressed that all staff have tested negative.
Secretary Steve Marshall said: “The health and safety of our volunteers, customers, clients, supporters and their families is paramount. As a registered charity we are totally transparent in the way we conduct ourselves. I believe the action we have taken demonstrates this clearly.”
The shop will reopen on Thursday 17 September.
