Estepona council has taken the first formal planning steps to speed up the rebuilding of the burned-out Laguna Village leisure complex.
Besides waiving the rent and local taxes on the council-owned land for the concession holders, officials have given their approval to the process required to keep the land secure and safe and to start the rebuilding of the premises as soon as possible.
In a meeting last week with the Río Padrón company, representatives and the mayor said they aimed to have the upmarket beachside facility reopen by next Easter.
