Radar Covid, the coronavirus infection warning application for smartphones will be in operation in Malaga and Almeria provinces from this coming Monday, 24 August. The app's test phase was completed satisfactorily some days ago and it has now been made available to regional governments.
The start date was revealed by the mayor of Malaga in a tweet on Wednesday night, citing the regional Health minister, Jesús Aguirre.
"It's very important for at least 60% of the population to install the app," he said. "Then it will be useful for everyone."
Radar Covid, which is free, anonymously informs users of any possible contact they may have had in the previous 14 days with a person who has tested positive for coronavirus, using Bluetooth technology.
Search for "Radar COVID" in the App Store for iPhones or Google Play Store for Android.
