  • The town hall has published a new ruling following a notice from the regional Health authority stating that the exception to rule for individual sports could not be applied as keeping a safe distance is impossible

Mijas town hall has announced that face masks are compulsory along the entire coastal path (Senda Litoral) of the municipality, even for those practising individual sports.

The edict, published on Friday, comes in reponse to a notice issued by the Andalusian Health ministry stating that as a safe distance cannot be observed along the Senda Litoral, whatever the activity (walking or running), the usual exception to the face mask ruling for those practising individual sports would not be applicable.

The town hall has called for "collaboration" from the general public to abide by the regulations brought in across Andalucía to prevent Covid-19, "especially in spaces where, due to their characteristics, it is impossible to keep the recommended safe distance".
