The family of Cecilia Craven-Bartle have been celebrating this week as the San Pedro Alcántara resident turned 100.
For this reason, the town's mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, paid her a visit at her home to present her with a commemorative plaque. However, this was not the only recognition she received. Cecilia received a telegram from Queen Elizabeth II herself to mark her centenary.
Cecilia was born in Jerez in 1920 but went to the United Kingdom with her husband in 1958. After retiring there more than 35 years ago, the couple moved to San Pedro, where she is very well known in the town.
