The start of July will bring with it a considerable increase in temperatures on the Costa del Sol, in Malaga city and the Guadalhorce valley.

The State Metereological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow weather warning for heat for Wednesday between 1 and 8pm, with temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius expected in some areas.

Worst hit will be inland areas with 39 degrees predicted for Coín, while coastal areas will be slightly cooler thanks to winds approaching through the Strait which will compete with the warm Terral wind.

Temparatures should fall again by Friday as the easterly Levante wind dominates.
