British company Intu presented detailed plans to Torremolinos town hall as it pushes ahead with its project to build a large-scale shopping and leisure complex on the outskirts of the town, close to the Palacio de Congresos.
The plans presented by Intu include the creation of two new access roads: one from the west, next to the botanical gardens, and another from Calle Rocío Jurado. Both roads, totalling more than six kilometres, will have two lanes to enter and one to exit. The company will also finance a roundabout for access from the AP-7 and A-7.
These projects have been given a budget of 47 million euros and will take three years to complete. The park itself will cost 800 million euros, employing 2,500 people during the construction and 4,500 after.
