The body of a 25-year-old woman who had breached the state of alarm restrictions to go swimming at the Poza de las Mozas natural pool in Benahavís was found at around midnight on Wednesday last week. It was in the same area where her friend had lost sight of her before raising the alarm.
It is believed that the woman, Oshim, drowned because she was unaware of how strong the current was or the depth of the water. The other girl lost sight of her friend and also struggled to get out of the water which she described to police as "very cold".
Police have said that an autopsy will prove whether or not Oshim had consumed alcohol before entering the water and that the body showed signs of drowning when it was discovered.
