A local association working to conserve Marbella's remaining sand dunes has published a guide in three languages. Areas of delicate dunes are dotted along the coastline to the east of the town and the ProDunas group aims to protect them.
The guide, written by Manuel Romero González, provides walking routes and background to help explore and explain their environmental importance.
It has been published in Spanish, English and German and 5,000 copies will be distributed free of charge.
The nine areas of dunes featured are on the coast between Río Real and Cabopino.
