The case of the 'painter boy', David Guerrero Guevara, missing since 6 April 1987 when he was 13 years old, has been reopened by the National Police, according to SUR sources.

Though officially closed on 16 July 1996 and David subsequently declared dead (in order to process the inheritance of his father, now deceased), his mother Antonia hasn't given up hope that he is still alive.

In fact, his search is still active with Interpol which considers this a highly alarming case given that there have been no concrete leads since he was last seen leaving his house in the 25 Años de Paz area of Malaga 33 years ago.

The new investigation will revisit the original, one step at a time to follow up any new leads that are uncovered.
