Plans for a W Marbella Resort run by Marriott, east of the resort centre, have been held up while government approval is given for access from the A-7 motorway.

A new exit is needed to the site at Real Zaragoza beach, close to Elviria, but officials have asked developers to change the plans three times.

The project is owned by Hong Kong's Platinum Estates, who have expressed their frustration at the delay since the project was announced two years ago.

They say all other official approval is place.
