  • The project is for the upcoming Departures exhibition at the Migration Museum in London, which is to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower

A UK museum is asking Britons residing in EU countries to send in postcards from the place where they live.

Postcards from the British in Europe is a collaboration between Dr Michaela Benson who led the Brexit Brits Abroad project and the Migration Museum in London for their forthcoming Departures exhibition, to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower.

The exhibition aims to explore four centuries of emigration from Britain. Benson said, "Postcards from the British in Europe is an unprecedented opportunity for Britons living in Europe to have their personal stories represented and displayed, and to play their part in placing emigration firmly on the agenda in public understandings of Britain's migration story."

For more information about taking part in the project email: michaela.benson@gold.ac.uk. The deadline is 31 January 2020.
