The metal letters which crown the old Nagüeles quarry have deteriorated over the years, but that will not be the case for much longer, as a complete repair project started on 17 September. The restoration works are due to take approximately two months, and come at a cost of 47,577 euros, according to a report accessed by SUR.
The letters, 17 in total, and spelling out 'Auditorio Marbella', stand in the vicinity of the famous summer Starlite festival, on a plot of land measuring 6,318,064 square metres. Almost all of the restoration works will be done manually, and each letter, once repaired, will have four structural supports. The letters will be painted white on the front and grey on the back, in order to ensure the smooth continuityof the structure's appearance.
