Upon appointment as mayors, José Ortiz and Victor Navas vowed to build a bridge in La Leala to improve connections between Torremolinos and Benalmádena and to reduce the traffic blocking the access roads.

Five years on, not one brick has been laid and there's still no sign of the promised bridge, despite both councillors signing an agreement to ensure the materialisation of the project only last year.

The construction project, estimated to cost 1.3 million euros, would improve pedestrian mobility between the commercial area of La Leala and the residential district of El Pinillo.
