The Partido Popular (PP) has said that it will take action via the national parliament this autumn in support of projects to stop sand being eroded from Marbella's beaches.
The political party that runs Marbella council says that the acting PSOE government has not done enough to put sand back when currents and storms wash it away, meaning the beaches are getting narrower in the resort.
The PP's national head of local and regional government policy, Antonio García Terol, was with town mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, at a press conference on the beach on Tuesday. They claim that Madrid has stopped previously agreed plans to stabilise the beaches.
