  • The town's fair is normally held in the town centre but the ongoing pedestrianisation work is an obstacle

Vélez-Málaga town hall met with neighbours' groups and local businesses last week to find an alternative venue for the town's feria, which will take place from 25 to 29 September.

The day fair, which is normally held in the town centre, will need to be moved this year due to the ongoing work to pedestrianise the central Carmelitas square and surrounding streets.

The work started in April and has been held up due to the discovery of archaeological remains under the streets.
