There's been nother setback on the long road to updating Marbella's master town plan. A council audit committee has ordered a rerun of the tender process for the compilation of the new PGOU plan after complaints by two architectural firms who lost out in the bidding process.
Marbella is still using a patched-up version of a 1986 town plan, despite the resort evolving considerably since then. A 2010 version was struck down in court in 2015 and key planning decisions since then have been left in limbo.
The two losing bidders made nine complaints, five of which were upheld, centring on irregularities in deadline extensions and the make-up of the expert panel that evaluated the bids.
