It was a struggle to the end but the coalition of Partido Popular (PP) and Ciudadanos(Cs) at the Junta de Andalucía won approval for the 2019 budgets from the regional parliament at last on Wednesday.
The Junta needed the support of the regional MPs of Vox to get the plans through and avoid the 2018 budget being extended.
Hard-right Vox had objected to the plans, saying they failed to recognise a PP-Cs agreement.
After eleventh-hour negotiations with its national leaders, Vox changed its mind. 34 points have been added to the budget including a help for vulnerable pregnant women to avoid abortions and a family violence as well as a women's violence helpline.
