Hilton's new luxury brand has arrived on the Costa del Sol. The former Doubletree by Hilton Resort & Spa Reserva del Higuerón in Fuengirola has reopened following a 22-million-euro investment and is now part of the Curio Collection luxury brand.

The hotel offers 177 rooms, including 24 panoramic suites, with plans to add a further 113 premium suites next year, according to the chain. The hotel is also home to a spa, sports facilities, meeting rooms, four pools (including an infinity pool) and six different restaurants and bars, most notably the Michelin-starred Sollo from chef Diego Gallegos.

"Malaga is one of Europe's most popular destinations, with 12.5 million tourists flocking to its sunny shores last year," said Simon Vincent, president of EMEA Hilton. "With one in every seven euros in Spain generated by travel and tourism, we are excited to expand our portfolio by 50 per cent in the next three to five years."
