The former US president Barack Obama is due to pay a lightning visit to Marbella today, Friday. He will be guest speaker at a private event organised by the German multinational software corporation SAP.
The presence of Obama in Marbella has been a close-kept secret and the organisers have been unable to reveal the name of the hotel where the event is taking place, or other information, due to a confidentiality clause in the contract.
The former president is due to arrive at Malaga Airport from another European country at around midday, accompanied by part of his family. He will travel straight to Marbella where he will speak to directors and shareholders of the multinational.
Obama, whose wife Michelle holidayed on the Costa del Sol in 2010 when her husband was president, will only stay in Marbella for the duration of his participation in the event.
He is then due to head straight back to the airport and leave Spain immediately.
