The new, third reversible lane on the access road to the Parque Tecnológico de Andalucía (PTA) came into operation for the first time on Tuesday, with many road users heralding it as a success.
Those consulted by SUR on the day reported arriving more than ten minutes faster than usual, with some even shaving 20 minutes off their usual journey time.
Sources from the regional and local government said that they were delighted with the early results. City councillor for Mobility, Elvira Maeso, said: "We are very happy that finally something has been done about this congestion problem."
Workers at the PTA, however, are now calling for the same measures to be brought in for the evening rush hour - something the regional Public Works ministry was "looking into".
