The new public library in Alhaurín de la Torre opened its doors for the first time last week, operating on a new schedule from 9am to 8pm.
The space, which has almost 40,000 books, plus an archive of around 4,500 articles, is spread across 1,553.13 square metres and three floors.
The new Biblioteca Antonio Garrido Moraga, named after the academic and politician who gave classes in the area, has a reading area for up to 200 people, a children's zone, an IT area with more than 20 computers, an archive, a terrace with a viewpoint and an events room.
At this current moment, the municipal library service has 11,000 users per week.
