A junior football club from Rincón de la Victoria were among the hundreds of passengers who found themselves stranded at Manchester airport last Sunday when a fuel problem meant over 80 flights were cancelled or delayed.

The group of 28 people, made up of players, coaches and parents, was due to take a Ryanair flight at 7.55pm on Sunday.

However, they ended up spending Sunday night in a hotel near the airport and then renting a bus to take them to Gatwick on Monday, where Easyjet had offered them places on its flight bound for Malaga the following day.

Following a second night in the UK, the team arrived back in Malaga on Tuesday.
