A 40-year-old was arrested on 26 April after a high-speed chase through Torrox during which he reached speeds of up to 130 km/h in areas with restrictions set at 20 or 30 km/h.

The man, who was approached for being illegally parked close to the seafront, fled the scene at high speed in the direction of Nerja, swerving to try to distract the police, before being intercepted at the Conejito roundabout.

He tested negative for alcohol and was found to have had no insurance on his Kawasaki Vulcan 800 motorbike since 2016.

His case will have to be heard in Malaga after he rejected a local judge's offer of a four-year driving suspension and 20 months in prison.
