Malaga should make better use of its sea as a tourist attraction, said Francisco Salado, the head of the provincial government, this week, at an event to mark the Day of the Province in La Cala del Moral.
He announced plans for a new project, the 'Senda Azul', or Blue Path, which will do precisely that. "We need to raise awareness of the wealth of marine life in the province and protect and investigate archaeological remains, create artificial reefs and use wrecks, not only to protect marine flora and fauna but also to create new nautical, sports and tourist attractions," he explained.
The Senda Azul will be a footpath leading from land out to sea, and will be created once the Coastal Path has been completed.
