Spectrum of the Seas will be based in Shanghai and recently left a German shipbuilders for the long journey to China. The cruise line has chosen Malaga in previous years to unveil new ships to world press and travel agents.

The new liner has space for 4,246 passengers and has a crew of 1,551 made up of 55 different nationalities.

He added that the company plans 11 scheduled stops for six of its ships in Malaga port this year, bringing 40,000 passengers to the city.

In terms of the new Spectrum of the Seas, this will start an inaugural cruise from Barcelona to Shanghai. The ship is the first to have an area set aside for full suites and will have restaurants serving Asian food.
