After two years of petitioning and activism on social media, the residents of La Atalaya de Cártama and Sierra Llana have finally got their wish. The Public Works department of the Junta de Andalucía regional government has approved the construction of a new pedestrian and cycle path that will connect the aforementioned areas with the two urban centres in the municipality - Cártama and Estación de Cártama.
This new path, according to the draft law to which SUR has had access, "will improve and widen the pavement" as well as improve safety with the installation of crash barriers and lighting.
