Torremolinos town hall has presented the town's Medalla de Honor to the British community. The town's highest distinction was accepted by Simon Manley, the British Ambassador to Spain, during a special presentation held in Torremolinos on Wednesday.
The medal of honour was presented to the British community for its social, economic and cultural contribution to Torremolinos. The mayor emphasised the fundamental role of the British, especially Margaret Horn Taylor, whom he said was "a pioneer of tourism in Torremolinos during the 1930s"
The ambassador expressed his gratitude by saying, "It is an honour to collect the award on behalf of the British community, because it recognises their long love affair with this magnificent town."
