A survey has shown that there are eight per cent more seats available on flights programmed to and from Malaga airport up to May this year, compared to a year ago.
The analysis by Turismo Costa del Sol, the local tourism authority, says that from December to February, airlines are putting on an extra capacity of around 13 per cent which then drops back to 4.5 per cent from March to May.
The data also shows a recovery in the planned numbers of British and Germans visiting the Costa del Sol. Between December and May there will be seven per cent more flight capacity to and from the UK. In the first ten months of 2018, Malaga airport saw a decline in British visitor numbers of almost five per cent.
Ryanair is the biggest airline from the airport and will also increase its capacity further.
