  • CD Cártama football club collected several hundred kilos of non-perishable food items during a charity sports event last month.

The fundraising day comprised a series of friendly football matches held in the Joaquín Martín Díaz sports complex in Cártama. Entry to the event was possible with the contribution of one kilo of non-perishable food, or hygiene and cleaning products, which was distributed among families in danger of social exclusion.

The goods, which were delivered to Cártama town hall last week, were accepted by Isabel Sánchez, councillor for Social Welfare, and Juan Rodríguez, councillor for Sport, who thanked the club for its assistance in supporting those in vulnerable situations, while also promoting sport among the youngsters of Cártama.
