As part of the campaign orchestrated by the Plastic Free Seas Worldwide foundation, the Beaches Department of the Fuengirola town hall has announced that the final beach clean-up of the year will take place on Saturday 15 December.
It is hoped that the project will remove at least 400kg of plastics from the beaches of Fuengirola, and those wishing to participate are asked to meet outside the Alarcón Restaurant at 2.30pm.
Organisers are encouraging as many people as possible to participate in the event, which is sponsored by Specsavers Opitcas Fuengirola. Rubbish bags will be supplied, but volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves.
Craig Webb and Natasha Wegloop, co-founders of Plastic Free Seas Worldwide commented: "Let's make this final beach clean-up of the year our best yet."
