The Cudeca Foundation has announced that the traditional Christmas Light a Light memorial celebration will take place on Friday 14 December from 6pm.

The annual switch-on of the lights that decorate the Cudeca Hospice in Benalmádena will be carried out by its founder, Joan Hunt OBE.

Joan will be assisted by Medical Director Marisa Martín, together with more than 200 volunteers, friends and employees.

The decorative Christmas lights of the hospice are a personal tribute and, as in previous years, they will continue to shine until 6 January.

The event will include a performance by the Sunny View College Choir, who will sing a selection of festive classics.

There will also be a prize raffle, home-cooked Christmas delicacies, children's activities, carol singing and a chance to take part in the special Christmas lottery.

A dedication to a loved one, which costs ten euros, can be made on the night of the event, or online (www.lightupcudeca.org).

The dedication will figure in the Light a Light book, which will be displayed in the reception of the Cudeca Hospice.
