Thursday 6 December will mark the 40th anniversary of the day Spaniards voted for democracy and ended almost 40 years of dictatorial rule. Constitution Day is a public holiday, although it is not celebrated with the same panache afforded to other Andalusian celebrations.
However, 6 December is also Finland's Day of Independence and Finns along the coast will come together in Torremolinos to celebrate the declaration of independence from Russia in 1917. A celebration will be held in the Palacio de Congresos and will start with the traditional raising of the flag. This will be followed by an evangelical-Lutheran service at midday. The main celebrations will begin at 2pm and will be attended by the consul of the Finnish Embassy in Madrid.
