A group of Polish tour operators visited Malaga last week with the aim of uilding new tourism links between the Costa del Sol and Poland. The young travel agents represented Rainbow Tours, a company that specialises in promoting holidays in Andalucía.
The group visited hotels, sights and leisure facilities in various resorts along the coast. The agents were met in Benalmádena by the councillor for tourism, Encarnación Cortés, who accompanied them on a guided tour of the town hall, Benalmádena Pueblo and Arroyo de la Miel.
Benalmádena has become a popular choice for Polish tourists. Between April and October of this year, more than 12,000 visited the Costa del Sol and the majority stayed in hotels in Benalmádena. According to statistics released by the Costa del Sol tourist board, in 2018, the Polish market grew by more than 17 per cent in relation to the same period of the previous year.
Encarnación Cortés said, "The Polish tourist market has become increasingly interested in the Costa del Sol in general, and especially Benalmádena, where increasing numbers of citizens are choosing to spend their holidays. We are extremely grateful for the hard work of these dedicated tour operators and we look forward to future links with the Polish market."
Rainbow Tours has been operating for 29 years and it is currently the second largest tour operator in Poland.
