Benalmádena town hall is spending 800,000 euros on the renewal of the railings along its promenade from the Bil-Bil castle to the marina.
Work began last week to replace the former balustrade which had been in place for more than 30 years.
The new design, said mayor Víctor Navas, is "more open and transparent". Other plans made possible by ten million euros obtained from the European Edusi fund will be aimed at turning Avenida Antonio Machado into a "quiet avenue with more gardens and revived shopping areas", said Navas.
