Benalmádena council is to build a new food market in the Arroyo de la Miel area. Councillors have announced that the contracts to design, build and operate the new market will be put out to tender soon.

The planned 1,000-square-metre building will be in Plaza Adolfo Suárez in the Pueblosol area of Arroyo. The town hall plans 30 to 35 different permanent stalls as part of the million-euro investment. The mayor's coalition partners, ACEB, have been calling for the new facility.
