A 4.2-magnitude earthquake was registered off the coast of Fuengirola on Sunday evening. The tremor took place at 8.47pm, according to sources at the National Geographical Institute, at a depth of 65 kilometres.
Minutes later, at 8.58pm, another earthquake occurred - this time a 3.1-magnitude tremor, 64 kilometres below the surface.
No damage to property nor injuries were recorded and the emergency service 112 hotline didn't receive any calls.
A further tremor was recorded in the province in the Axarquía municipality of Totalán on Monday morning.
According to the National Geographical Institute, the 2.4-magnitude earthquake was registered at 9.21am, 73 kilometres below ground.
