The Añoreta neighbourhood which forms part of Torre de Benagalbón and belongs to Rincón de la Victoria, was one of the first modern housing developments to be built in the area, around 30 years ago. The area is now best-known for its golf course, which goes by the same name. However, the area has received no investment and areas have become seriously deteriorated in the last three decades.
Work began last week to modernise the area, thanks to a 220,000-euro fund made available by Rincón de la Victoria town hall. Around 20 streets are to be modernised, in particular pavements which have become unsafe due to tree roots growing out and work to install electricity. The work is expected to take four months to complete.
