Illegal street vendors reclaim goods from police in Marbella

  • The men were able to snatch back a large part of the contraband

A group of illegal street vendors last week grouped together to turn on police who had confiscated the handbags, wallets and belts that they were trying to sell on Rodeíto beach between Puerto Banús and Estepona.

The three police officers were outnumbered and the men were able to snatch back a large part of the contraband, injuring the officers in the process.

According to police sources, exchanges such as these happen with certain frequency but in Marbella alone this summer, 39 street hawkers have been arrested and more than three thousand items seized.
