The government ministry for Public Works, Fomento, has given the green light for the all-important access roads to the new Intu shopping and leisure complex in Torremolinos.

The highways department has issued a favourable report in response to the town hall proposal for improvement works to the A-7, AP-7 and N-340 which will see the roads widened (in some cases from one to three lanes) to cope with the influx of new vehicles and exits added.

Representatives from Intu described the update as "excellent news" and confirmed that construction plans remain on track.

The cost of the new access roads will be funded entirely by Intu.
