Calls intensify for greater police presence in Manilva

  • At present, the municipality has just 26 Guardia Civil agents and 30 belonging to the Local Police

Following the fire that ravaged the municipality on Monday morning, Manilva mayor Mario Jiménez reiterated his stance that the town needed greater police presence to face up to this new and fast-changing threat and sufficiently cover "the coastline and the population that we have".

He has called for a 24-hour Guardia Civil station (Manilva is the only Costa municipality without one), a specialist investigation team and a larger number of officers .

At present, Manilva has just 26 Guardia Civil agents and 30 belonging to the Local Police.
