Rubén Portillo to open Vélez-Málaga fair

The flamenco guitarist has been key in boosting the town's cultural appeal

Vélez-Málaga town hall has confirmed that local flamenco guitarist, Rubén Portillo, will officially open this year's San Miguel fair.

A council spokesperson said Portillo had been chosen, "in view of the centenary of the death of Juan Breva and for being the protagonist of Flamenco Abierto which has put Vélez on the map."
