The American restaurant franchise Hard Rock Café has applied for planning permission for its new establishment in the city of Malaga. The eatery will be located in the portside Muelle Uno area, opposite the entrance to the Pompidou Centre.
After signing an agreement with the port's commercial management last November, the multinational company aims to begin works later this summer. Its objective is to have the restaurant open by December.
Alongside the Hard Rock Café's signature celebrity memorabilia, the 1,500-square-metre space will feature a rooftop terrace with panoramic views, a souvenir shop and a lift, meaning the building will be fully accessible.
This will be the second Hard Rock Café in the province, after the existing one in Puerto Banús, Marbella.
The new restaurant will be in one of the most visited spots in Malaga; this year a predicted 11-million people will have visited Muelle Uno, a new record.
