Last year Estepona launched an assisted sea bathing programme on Tuesdays and Thursdays for all residents who receive the council's home help service.

Locals are collected and taken to the town's Cristo beach, which has specially-designed equipment for people needing extra help to enjoy the sea. This year the scheme has been extended.

On Wednesdays it will be the turn of users of the APRONA mental-health charity and on Fridays the turn of the Virgen del Carmen residential home.
